The Romanian Journal of Economic History is published under the auspices of the George Barițiu Institute of History in Cluj-Napoca and the Institute for Social and Human Research in Sibiu. It is a specialist publication aimed at specialists in the field of historical sciences, particularly those concerned with economic and social history, as well as interdisciplinary and related research. The journal was established due to the lack of such a specialist publication in Romania and, at the same time, the need to promote and disseminate research in the field. The journal also features reviews and reading notes on relevant works published in Romania and abroad. The journal is published on an open access basis and does not charge publication or access fees for its electronic archive. It is published annually (one issue per year in December). The journal is published in Romanian, and some studies and articles are also published in international languages (English, French, German, Italian).
